In a letter which the Ink Kitchen received that was a copy of that given by American Apparel to the employees it indicates that most operations in LA would cease after about 60 days.

Whether any manufacturing or shipping would happen in CA is unclear at this time.

In our earlier post today it was revealed that Gildan is buying the branding, and possible the inventory if okayed by bankruptcy judges, etc.

All retail stores apparently would be closed in any scenario.

A sad day for American made fashion as American Apparel was a true force in our industry both driving fashion and driving the ethical considerations of manufacturing garments.
