Field Trip to Hirsch: Let’s See Some Heavy Duty Equipment

Tom and I visited the Hirsch showroom and office in NC. We received some great hospitality and we got to see some of the best equipment available for shirt decoration: Kornit Direct to Garment, MHM Automatic Textile Press, Tajima Embroidery, and Seit Lasers. Ostensibly it was to show some folks that were new to the industry what decorating possibilities are out there, but I have to admit I get jazzed up myself to see new equipment that is kick ass.

Unfortunately my video of the Kornit Avalanche went wonky. The Kornit machine is amazing, speedy and creates bright colors. You really can have DTG work now that looks like screenprinting or better even. The Kornit puts the pre-treatment on the shirt in the machine, not a separate function.

Some Kornit DTG prints with color vibrancy and tight registration. Unfortunately my photos that were actually of even more impressive prints that we saw being printed didn’t come out well. My hands must have been shaking with excitement….
