Ink Kitchen and Impressions have for several years now been coordinating efforts in Fort Worth, Atlantic City and Long Beach to have our industry come together to work on homelessness issues in those cities. Impressions recently did a nice job of describing those efforts.
At the Long Beach Expo next week we have a poster featuring Long Beach California’s most famous person with roots there, Snoop Dogg.
The past couple years we have featured the Queen Mary, but wanted to move on and were racking our brains when Co-owner Pam Ikegami blurted out, “Snoop Dogg.” Well it turns out that the awesome program we support Care Closet LBC is run by Duke Givens who just so happens to have grown up with Snoop and is one of his personal photographers. Snoop generously gave permission and Alyx Spurrier did his usual fantastic job and we’ll be selling posters with Snoop Dogg, based on one of Duke’s old photos.
Industry sponsors already stepped up and we should have $15K or more by the end of the show to give to Care Closet LBC.
Some folks are wondering with the fires where to help out. Care Closet LBC has a new influx of homeless folks into Long Beach due to the fires, both folks losing their homes and previously homeless folks who had to leave the burned areas. They also have been making trips up to Altadena to help that devastated community.
Come see us at the Long Beach Expo. Also please support these generous sponsors.
