If you want to buy a luxury item, you have to pay heavily for it, right? A Tesla or a high end Mercedes is going to cost you 100K and a basic VW or Ford will cost less than 20K new. 80K for luxury.
If you want a little luxury in your garment life, you get away with way less. I looked this morning and if instead of a thin open end low cost dark colored T you want something great, it will cost you this much more as follows.
Beefy T 6.1 ounce ringspun cotton well-made comfortable classic top of the line t-shirt: $1.50 extra cost.
Bayside Made in USA 100% cotton t: $2 extra cost
American Apparel ringspun cotton t, fashionable, comfortable, THE name in fashion t’s: less than $3 extra cost
An Econscious certified organic shirt, with ringspun comfort as well. Less than $4 more than the commodity t.
Think about how many times you wear a shirt that you like. If you wear it even once a month and it lasts like these shirts last, you are talking about wearing it 120 times or more. Let’s break down that luxury cost and we are talking crazy small amounts of money to own the best of t-shirts, a penny or at most two pennies every day you wear it.
A penny to feel good in terms of soft, in terms of ethics. Not a bad deal.
