Misprint Monday – A Real Reversal

My buddy, Ms. Bonnie Kilgore once said, “Show me somebody that don’t make no mistakes, and I’ll show you somebody that ain’t doin’ nothin’.” Mistakes are going to happen despite our best efforts to avoid them.

We had a four person brain freeze last week. There in plain sight is how the shirts were supposed to be printed, but we got the colors reversed on the front type. We have been working long hours and extra days and nights and you know, mistakes do happen. You don’t like it and you try and figure what can change in the future to make it not happen again and you move on.

In the short run, you make good and you own up to the error. We went and got more shirts and we reprinted the job correctly.

The reversed image wasn’t right, but then again it wasn’t bad looking either, and I felt that it would be a waste to throw them in the dumper, so I took a sample to our good customer Joe Rancatore. I delivered the right shirts and I asked if he wanted the backwards shirts for half price. He said, “how about 75%” and he went and grabbed a bag of pints of unbelievably delicious ice cream and gave them to me as well.

Joe’s a great guy, I’m lucky to have many of my customers and he is one of the good ones. He makes some amazing ice cream. If you ever are in Belmont or Lexington Massachusetts, check out Rancatore’s. He’s opening a new store in Newton, MA, too. I’m psyched as that is right on my way home from work.

What Rancatore's should look like.
