A clogged jet on an imaging device causes a streak across the entire graphic and nobody notices until the boss man comes walking through the shop (a fresh set of eyes always seems to catch the mistakes). How does this happen? It’s unbelievable and it’s embarrassing, but it’s reality and it happens to the best of us, so don’t beat yourself (or your printer) up over it. Perhaps it was the rush to make the UPS truck, perhaps it was cutting corners and a failure to fully inspect the printed image during First Print Approval. Whatever the cause, the real key to mitigating these occurrences is dogged adherence to process and procedure. Luckily this was only 200 pieces and not 2,000. It still stings though.
