End of an Era – New Buffalo Shirt Factory in NY Closing

This is the end of an era, or end of another chapter anyway. The New Buffalo Shirt Factory was the gold standard for shirt printing, specializing in highly detailed sports and rock images on black shirts. The owner Jon Weiss had a license plate that said “King of Black.” Jon sold to Gildan a couple years ago after having also moved most of the production to Honduras. The US plant outside of Buffalo, NY in Clarence, NY is now closing down on August 1. We salute some folks working there who did some very good work, some for a very long time.

I actually don't know if this is a New Buffalo print, but by the quality and the style it either is one of their prints or at least inspired by their printing and color separating.

  1. I seem to recall one of their Billy Joel shirts…I think it was this one-http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxMjAw/z/QDkAAOSwBLlU76Dk/$_12.JPG?set_id=880000500F

    1. I airbrused that billy Joel artwork back in the 90’s. Nice too see many new buffalo shirts still floating around out there on eBay.

  2. Yep that’s a new buffalo shirt. I airbrushed that artwork back in the early 90’s. Sad a company with such talent has closed and jobs moved out of US.
