Lapsed Catholic Street Art by Machin Machine

Here is the artist selling her prints at a street fair, her artist name Machin Machine. She is part of a Lyon cooperative with a shared studio where she can do her printing.
Lots of attitude in her work, the shirt on the left “Ferme ta gueule.” translates literally to “shut your face” but “gueule” is an animal face and a closer translation is “shut the f*** up.”

In the city of silk, and appropriately enough also the city of silkscreens, Lyon, France, we ran into a street fair with screen prints for sale.

She had a wide range of items, posters, cards, shirts, and all screened. When Machin told us the leader of her screen printing cooperative was an anarchist known for taking his printing implements on his bicycle to political events and live screening there, we were not surprised.
