Solving Labor Shortages and Improving Company Culture by Hiring Individuals with Disabilities

Hiring people with disabilities can be a great way to improve your company’s culture and bottom line. Studies have shown that companies that employ people with disabilities have higher productivity, lower absenteeism and lower turnover rates. They also have a better reputation with customers and the community.

Did you know that there are over 60 million people with disabilities in the United States? That’s about one in five people. And yet, only about 30% of people with disabilities are employed. That’s a huge waste of talent and potential.

People with disabilities are just as capable as anyone else of doing a good job. In fact, they often bring unique skills and perspectives to the workplace. For example, people with disabilities are often very good at problem-solving and adapting to change. They’re also often very resilient and determined.

At the Impressions Expo in Long Beach, Jed Seifert of Stakes Manufacturing spoke about the benefits of disability inclusion to your business and the many free resources available to employers to hire, train and work with individuals with disabilities. Watch it below or on our YouTube channel.
